1. HIIT delivers sensational results in a short space of time; you will get fitter, faster than with aerobic based steady state training.

2. There’s no need for machines, some of the best HIIT is done purely with bodyweight, think sprints on the spot, explosive moves like squat jumps, jumping lunges and hundreds more!

3. Your workouts are down in a short time-frame… between 20-30 minutes with usually 20 mins of HIIT combined with a warm up and cool down.  All HIIT classes are only 30 minutes in total!  During your main 20 minute HIIT workout, you will be working to short intervals and rest period such as 20 seconds full speed, 10 seconds recovery, or 30 seconds full speed, 20 recovery and so on, so you are always nice and close to a rest!

4. You get the “afterburn” effect, meaning you burn extra calories all day long well after your session (some studies have shown up to 24 hours later!).

5. Research has shown that HIIT workouts can burn 25 – 35% more calories than other forms of exercise! (source – Pubmed.gov – US National Library of medicine)

6. HIIT Intervals can produce similar fat loss to traditional endurance exercise, even with a much smaller time commitment.

7. HIIT training can also reduce unhealthy and dangerous visceral fat (source – Pubmed.gov – US Library of Medicine .  A great Gym facility  don’t believe in using traditional scales but instead bring in top technology body composition using a medical grade scanner which looks at the entire make up of the body, including bone density, muscle mass and mineral levels, water levels, and visceral fat.

8. You will learn how to turn your body into a training machine, and plenty of HIIT workouts you can do at home, outside of the gym environment.

9. It feels great to get that heart rate up nice and fast, but did you know HIIT can in fact reduce your resting heart rate?  HIIT can reduce blood pressure and heart rate, primarily in overweight or obese individuals with high blood pressure (source British Journal of Sports Medicine)

10. Encouraging kids to be more active by seeing their role models doing the same thing.  Your kids can watch you, copy you, be influenced to be active like you.

11. HIIT makes you run faster, much faster. Plyometric moves and sprints will do that for you!  Join challenges or make one on your own be accountable and you will see the change.

12. HIIT Workouts will help build you a super strong core… nothing gets a stronger core than moves like squat thrusts, burpees and plank variations, all exercises using no equipment.

13. All those press ups give you great shoulders and arm definition, combined with the fast explosive leg work and focus on a strong core, you’ve got the ultimate full body workout.

14. You can do HIIT on Holidays. We always eat and drink more on hols right? Well… just a little 20 mins of hotel room HIIT will give you the equivalent of a much longer workout.

15. You can add progressions and regressions… ideal if you are returning to exercise, starting out or perhaps you need to regress or modify due to injury.

16. Music is a great way to make workouts even more fun! HIIT workouts are always with fast paced, up tempo music. Who wouldn’t want to move listening to great tunes.  HIIt is highly motivating and gives you energy to power through your session

 17. It’s challenging. HIIT isn’t meant to be an easy workout… you are going at a high intensity, so you get a real feeling of satisfaction after your session. It feels euphoric to finish, and you can always work harder to challenge yourself each and every workout. ,

18. HIIT gives you an ideal mix for a workout week is 3 bodyweight movements,  combined with 2 to 3 strength classes such as a our upper body barbell workout Raise the Bar, and lower body strength session, Booty Burn. This is 6 x 30 minute sessions per week, only 3 hours of training! 

19. HIIT will improve aerobic performance across multiple sports. You wait and see!  It’s great if you do team sports too, and we love to help with pre-season training for netball, soccer and football leagues.

20. If you are doing HIIT in a class environment, you will also have a very experienced coach who will work the room to ensure every participant is working effectively and with great form. Expert  HIIT  coaches are the best in the business and rather than leading a workout from the front, they are moving just as fast as our participants, running around the studio floor and helping with form, keeping moves fast when need to be, and challenging you to try variations and step up when you are ready!
